On The Importance Of Elevation In Stone Production And Processing

There is no doubt about the important role of drawings in production and processing. Without drawings, production and processing are like blind people touching elephants – grasping blindly, and there is no good result at all. Various drawings are used in the processing of stone products. Different drawings have different functions.

In these drawings, elevation and layout are very common, but elevation and layout are the same, but they are indispensable in production and processing. The floor plan reflects the product relationship on the plane, while the elevation reflects the product relationship on the elevation. With stone products on the elevation, the building space decoration effect is better and the three-dimensional sense is stronger.

The so-called elevation drawing refers to the orthographic projection drawing of the house-made on the projection drawing obtained by projecting each elevation of the outer wall of the building and the projection plane parallel to the interior elevation of the house, which is called the building elevation drawing, referred to as the elevation drawing for short.

As can be seen from the building elevation:

(1) Appearance characteristics and concave-convex changes of buildings

The three-dimensional sense of the building is displayed through the elevation direction. The plane direction only shows the plane effect. Only the elevation can reflect the appearance characteristics and concave-convex changes of the building and show the three-dimensional sense of space of the building.

(2) Elevation and height relationship of main parts of the building

The elevation reflects the elevation and height relationship of the main parts of the building. Through the elevation drawing, we can know whether each elevation position is stone products and the installation quantity of stone products.

(3) Materials, product types, and construction requirements selected for building elevation drawings, etc

The building elevation reflects the relationship between various parts of the building in the vertical direction. Observe the decorative materials on the elevation through the building elevation. Elevation (expanded) drawing: a necessary drawing on the production and processing sheet, which reflects the relationship between various components on the decorative surface, size relationship, what shape each component is processed into, and what type of edge is polished, reflecting the overall effect of the decorative surface.

How to identify building elevation?

Look at the spatial structure of the elevation: look at the general outline from the bottom of the elevation, and then look from left to right or from right to left. Generally, from axis 1 to axis 10, ① axis refers to wall and dado; ② The shaft may be a rolling gate with a large door pocket machined; ④ There are stair columns and stairs at the shaft; ⑤ The shaft is the entrance of the gate, with a stone door pocket; ⑥ There are stair columns and stairs at the axis, corresponding to ④ axis; ⑨ The shaft is a French window with a stone window sleeve; 10 are wall and dado.

Second, looking upward gradually, there is a coping stone composed of lines on the door pocket at axis ⑤; There is a circle of stone lines along the wall directly at the junction line between the second floor and the first floor.

Third, look at the elevation structure of the second floor, window sleeves, wall columns, various stone decorative blocks, and lines are reflected in the elevation.

Four looks at the eaves structure: there are many stone decorative blocks at the eaves.

Fifth, look at the roof structure: there are stone decorative columns and four ventilation outlets on the roof.

Vi. see which parts on the elevation are stone, and compare with the legend of stone in the notes on the elevation to see what stone it is.

Types of elevation drawings are often involved in stone product processing:

(1) Wall elevation

Depending on the function of the building, wall elevations include living room wall elevation, background wall elevation, toilet wall elevation, exterior wall elevation, lobby wall elevation, etc. No matter what type of elevation, its representation is the same.

(2) Elevation of the square column

Represents the elevation of the square column. The elevation of the square column is usually composed of the column base, column body, column waist, column neck, and column head. The elevation of the square column is usually drawn in the form of an expansion drawing.

(3) Column elevation

Represents a cylindrical elevation. Column elevation is usually composed of the column base, column body, column waist, column neck, and column head. The column elevation is usually drawn in the form of an expanded view, which is the same as the square column elevation.

(4) Square column + column elevation

Elevation consisting of the square column and column elevation. The elevation expansion drawing is the same as that of the square column and column

(5) Expanded elevation of arc wall

The expanded elevation of the arc wall is the same as that of the straight wall, and the expression is also the same.

(6) Elevation of washbasin

Hand washing stations are found everywhere in hotels, hotels, public places, and family houses, and such products are often made in stone products. In the stone product industry, if there is only the plan of the washing table and no elevation of the washing table, it is impossible to process products that meet the requirements.

(7) Elevation of kitchen cabinet

The kitchen cabinet is an indispensable product in the family residence. The elevation of the kitchen cabinet reflects the structure of the kitchen cabinet and is an indispensable drawing worker in kitchen cabinet processing.

(8) Furniture elevation

It can be seen from the elevation that the wine cabinet is composed of a base, four solid roman columns, a double door structure, lining partition, door arch plate, roof, etc. If carving is required, the detailed drawing shall also be noted.

(9) Elevation of door pocket

A door pocket is a very common product in stone processing. Door pocket processing must be carried out according to the elevation of the door pocket.

(10) Elevation of the vertical staircase

The vertical view of the straight staircase reflects the vertical structure of the straight staircase. How to process stair products is known through the elevation drawing?

(11) Elevation of a revolving staircase

Rotary stairs are products with high processing difficulty in stairs. The relationship between various parts is reflected through the elevation drawing. During production and processing, they are processed according to the elevation drawing.

(12) Service desk elevation

The service desk is widely used in hotels. In production and processing, the structure reflected in the elevation of the service desk can be used to accurately process qualified service desk products.

(13) Bathtub elevation

Through the elevation, it is clear that the bathtub is a circular arc or square bathtub with a double-layer or single-layer structure, and whether the outer double-layer bathtub has thickened edge processing.

(14) Niche elevation

Niches are widely used in family residential projects, and they can only be processed according to the elevation during production and processing. The elevation of the niche includes front elevation and side elevation, both of which are complete.

(15) Fireplace elevation

The facade structure of the fireplace is complex, which is not understood by the employees of many stone production enterprises. In addition to the front elevation, the fireplace elevation needs to be equipped with the side elevation to understand how the product is processed. For a particularly complex fireplace, a three-dimensional effect is added to make the production workers understand it better.

(16) Elevation of pool

What kind of stone materials are used, the modeling of the lower foot line and the upper panel

(17) Facade structure of background wall

The structure of some background walls is very complex. The structure of the background wall must be clear through the elevation view or even the axial view to process the background wall products.

It is more difficult to understand the elevation than the plan. Sometimes it can only be understood through the axial view (three-dimensional view). The processing of stone products must understand and understand the elevation before they can process products with a good three-dimensional space effect. It is hoped that this paper will be of great help to the employees of stone production enterprises and improve their map reading level and cognitive ability. This article is written here first.
