1、 Glue repair for stone parquet
The main difference between the treatment process of stone parquet and the ordinary stone care project is in the seamless treatment, that is, the glue repair link. Other links are not very different.

1. Difficulties
a: Small gap
Today’s stone mosaic is generally computer graphics and water jet cutting. The process is very advanced and the error is very low. After assembly, the gap is usually less than 0.1mm. It is very difficult to repair such a narrow gap.
b: Cumbersome
Computer graphics can design extremely complicated patterns. Although the effect is very beautiful, a small piece of the puzzle may be an amazing workload for glue repair. So don’t deal with the parquet and quote the price of ordinary projects – it can’t be calculated like this.

2. Purpose and significance of glue repair
Different from ordinary stone care engineering, the glue repair treatment of stone parquet has more important significance.
① Achieve true seamless
Although the error of parquet can be minimized, it must be filled with glue to form a real overall surface. It can prevent pollution and wear.

② Defect repair
In the process of transportation and installation, stone parquet is easy to produce some defects in detail, which need to be repaired through glue repair.
③ Artistic rendering
Some mosaic designs need to use dark and light colors of glue to show a better artistic effect. If dark glue is used, it can produce a segmentation effect, which is a better improvement on the decoration of the parquet.

2、 Construction technology
The main difficulty of the processing technology of stone parquet lies in the seamless processing, and the difference from the general stone care engineering lies in the seamless processing. Therefore, the problem of the seamless processing of stone parquet has been solved. The following grinding and polishing are the same as general stone care engineering.
Step 1: Selection of glue
Marble glue and transparent glue shall be used to repair the stone mosaic. The marble glue selected must meet the following requirements:

*It shall have good bonding properties.
*It should have good polishing performance. After grinding and polishing, it should be consistent with the stone glossiness.
*Make it easy to mix colors. The tinting performance of the marble glue is related to the fineness of the powder particles. If the fineness of the powder particles of the marble glue reaches more than 300 #, it has good tinting performance and is not easy to change color. The low-quality marble glue, with a particle size even below 0 #, is not easy to mix and loses color.

Step 2: Clean the gap
1. If the gap is less than 0.2mm
For stone parquet and joint cleaning with a very small gap, it is basically not allowed to use machinery for operation. If a portable cutting machine and seam cleaning piece are used, on the one hand, it is easy to cause gap-cutting amplification; On the other hand, it will generate high heat, leading to problems such as edge collapse, which will damage the overall decorative effect.
Correct method:
Manual cleaning. Seiko blade is selected, which is very thin. In some places, even thinner razor blades are needed for cleaning. When cleaning the joints, the speed should be slow to avoid damage to the mosaic details. After seam cleaning, use a high-power vacuum cleaner to remove the dust at the seam.

2. If the gap>0.2mm
The mosaic area is large, and when the gap is relatively large, a “portable cutting machine+0.2mm joint cleaning piece” can be selected for cleaning. The joint cleaning depth shall be more than 3mm, and the deeper the joint, the higher the overall structural strength.
matters needing attention:
*When cleaning the joints, the original appearance of the stone must be maintained, and the gaps must not be widened.

*Don’t cut through the gap at the end.
*Don’t cut the seams – just don’t go out carelessly when cleaning along one seam.
*During the cleaning process, the joint cleaning piece must be perpendicular to the stone at 90 degrees, otherwise the stone edge will collapse.

Step 3: Glue mixing
1. Standards
Adjust the color of the glue to be consistent with that of the stone.
2. Methods
Use marble glue+water glue or transparent glue, keep stirring, and dilute the glue. The reason is that the gap of the parquet is very small and cannot be widened, so the fluidity of the glue must be enhanced to effectively penetrate.

3. Tips and considerations
① Add natural toner
When adjusting the color of glue, natural inorganic color powder, such as stone powder, can be added as required, which is extracted from natural minerals and can achieve an effect that is very close to the color of the stone. It is not recommended to add organic pigments, because the color of artificial pigments is relatively pure, which can not well simulate the natural stone with natural color.
② Select skilled workers
Select workers who are skilled in operation, have strong color discrimination ability and have a high sense of responsibility and patience to operate with an attitude towards artwork. To achieve the perfect effect.

③ Sufficient light
When mixing glue, try to do it in the daytime with sufficient light to help distinguish the color.
④ Fully compare
During glue mixing, it is necessary to constantly compare and adjust with the stone until the most satisfactory effect is achieved.

⑤ Glue mixing in batches
The glue needed in the same area should be prepared at one time, not multiple times, which may lead to different colors.
⑥ Selection of batch cutter
When mixing glue, the general tool is a batch knife. The width of the batch knife is required to be no more than 3 inches. The wider the knife is, the more dispersed the force is, and the uniformity of the glue is not enough.

Step 4: Glue repair
1. Tool selection
① Spatula
A Batch knife shall be used for glue repair, and the width shall not exceed 2 inches. The reason is to prevent excessive dispersion of force, which is not conducive to the penetration of glue.

② Blade
Another necessary tool for workers during the glue repair process is the blade. Otherwise, the pollution left in the gap will cause problems such as blackening and degumming.
③ Shoe cover
To prevent dust pollution, construction personnel shall wear shoe covers for construction.

2. Glue Replenishment Operation
When replenishing the glue, use a screwdriver to scrape the adjusted glue horizontally to the gap and squeeze it. Then scrape off the excess glue vertically along the gap. In a reasonable state, the glue shall leave a bulge of 0.2~0.3mm at the gap. On the one hand, it leaves a margin for the adhesive during the drying process to prevent it from settling out of the groove. On the other hand, after overall grinding, there is a complete surface.

3. Health preservation time
After the glue repair is completed, there must be enough time for the drying and curing of the glue.
① No one is allowed to walk in the glue mending area within 4 hours after the glue mending is completed.
② After the glue repair is completed, the whole grinding can be carried out after more than 8 hours.

Step 5: Overall grinding
Refer to the overall grinding process of stone in general stone care engineering.
Step 6: Glaze sealing
Stone parquet is an exquisite artistic design. In order to maintain the beautiful decorative effect for a long time, and enhance the wear resistance and anti-pollution ability, the sealing glaze technology should be used to effectively protect the surface of the parquet. The main component of the sealing glaze material is silica (the same as glass), which can greatly improve the hardness, brightness, and clarity of the stone surface. It is the best protection measure for the stone mosaic.

Operation method: Mix the VD stone sealing glaze No.1 and No.2 in a 1:1 ratio, and use the crystal surface machine+cleaning pad to evenly polish until it is polished.
Stone parquet is a very delicate art. The above precautions are intended to prevent damage to the overall decorative effect. For example, when cleaning the seam, cutting the head or cutting the string seam is very unsightly, affecting the decorative effect.
